So — you’ve heard of Wyre’s powerful stack of crypto APIs and you are ready to see what they are all about. Here is a complete guide on how to get your test keys within minutes, request production keys and get to building your next big idea as quickly as possible.

First Things First

The first step is to access the new Wyre Dashboard. Even if you are new to Wyre, start by clicking the “Login” button at the top of Wyre’s homepage.

Once at the login screen, click the “Sign Up” button at the bottom of the screen and complete the signup and login processes.

Choose to create a Business or Individual account, and fill in the required fields. Note: If you are working with a team, be sure to double check that someone else from your team has not already created an account for your business. If there are multiple accounts made for the same business, it could interfere with your KYB process.

Fill in your business name, legal first and last name and valid phone number.

You will receive a code via SMS to the number that you entered to verify your phone number.

Once verified, you will get a confirmation screen telling you to check your email to confirm your email address. This email may end up in your spam folder.

Once you have confirmed your email address, you will be encouraged to set up 2-Factor Authentication. If you do not already have an authenticator app, we recommend downloading Google Authenticator (Play Store/App Store).

Once completed you will be returned to the login screen, where you can enter your credentials and log in.

Get Your Test Keys

If you are looking to get building with Wyre as fast as possible, the first thing you will want to do is get your test API keys. A huge advantage of the Wyre Dashboard is that you do not need to go through a verification/KYB process in order to get test API keys. (If you are really in a hurry you can even submit the required KYB documents, and play around with your test keys while you wait for approval to move to production.)

When you first log in, you will be automatically in the “Production” tab. Use the toggle at the top of the screen to easily switch over to the “Test” portion of the dashboard.

When you are in Test Sandbox mode, yellow text will appear at the top of the screen to let you know.

To generate your test API keys, click on the “Developers” tab on the left navigation bar. From there, click on the “Add API Key” button.

A drawer will pop out from the right side where you have the option to name your keys and add a whitelisted IP address. Those fields are optional, so you can fill them in or just click the “Create” button.

This will create your test keys. You will receive a success message and your test API key and secret key will be displayed. At this point it will be important to write down your secret key and keep it in a safe place, as this will not be shared or retrievable again after this point. The secret key will act as your Bearer Token as you build and use Wyre’s APIs. (If you end up losing your secret key, you will have to create a new API key. Just be sure not to lose the secret key this time!)

Then head to our docs at docs.sendwyre.com for all of the guides and API references you need to get to building.

Contacting Wyre

One of the most important parts of integrating with Wyre, is the KYC/KYB process. This process ensures that your business is partaking in legal business activities and protects Wyre from large fines or legal repercussions.

The easiest way to get through this process seamlessly is to get in touch from someone from Wyre. To do this, follow this link and fill out the form. This form can also be found on our website with the ‘Get Started” button at the top right.

KYC/KYB and Production Keys

The following are the steps that a Wyre representative will be able to walk through with you. We recommend filling out the form mentioned above to make it easier for you and to ensure that you are getting what you need from Wyre. With that said, here is the procedure for getting approved and retrieving production keys.

The first step in completing the KYB process is to verify your business. To start this process, head to the dashboard and make sure the toggle is switched to your production account.

Once there, click the ‘Get Verified’ button.

This will open a drawer on the right which will request all of your business details. Take your time to fill in all of the fields and upload the appropriate documents. See this page for a list of documentation that will be required.

It will take some time for you to be verified, so don’t expect an instant response. But, once you are verified, you will receive an email letting you know. When you receive this email, head here to officially request your production API keys. Click “Your Account” in the top right of the screen to open the dropdown menu. Then select “API Keys.”

Click “Request API Key.” This button will forward you to our Go Live Request Form. There you will have to submit another round of information including Wyre’s Referral Agreement.

After you have filled out the Go Live Request Form, your information will be reviewed. As soon as your account is approved for production, your Wyre representative will contact you to give you the great news!

Once you have been notified that your production account has been approved, use the same toggle at top of the Dashboard to switch to your Production environment. Following the same steps as requesting your test keys, click on “Developers” and then “Get API Keys” button.

A drawer will once again open on the right of your screen and ask for a code from your authentication app. If you have already been approved, the code from your authenticator app will work and your production keys will be generated. If not, be sure to contact your Wyre representative to see where your account was held up. (If you have not yet been approved, you will be shown a “missing permission to generate api keys” error message.)

And there you have it! You are ready to push your integration with Wyre’s powerful APIs live and start generating value for your business.

If you have questions, be sure to head to our Discord to seek help from a fellow community member or a Wyre employee.
